GlobalSapien is a platform dedicated to promoting alternative destinations, alternative forms of travel, and alternative lifestyles centered around travel. Specifically, we advocate a sustainable, community-based approach to experiencing the world through reliance on social capital rather than financial resources. Alex Umami, 25, is a prolific traveler, emerging writer, and seasoned expert in alternative travel. He chose to go by this pseudonym after China blacklisted him because of an article he wrote about Xinjiang in 2017.
